Use these materials to plan and introduce a self-guided team outing. Printing is optional.
Before the day
Choose a released game, check its duration, team limit and route notes, and agree a meeting point. Check the weather and individual access needs. Give one code to each team leader; do not post codes in a public channel.
Invitation template
We're heading out to solve a city mystery together! City and game: [insert] Date, meeting point and time: [insert] Expected finish: [insert] Bring a charged phone, mobile internet, comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Your team leader will receive the access code separately.
Starting together
Keep teams within the game's capacity. Read the route guidance and respect pedestrians, local access rules and opening hours. Multiple teams on one route need suitable spacing; check feasibility before planning a large shared start. Rotate reading, navigation and observation roles.
After the mystery
Take 10–15 minutes together. What did someone else notice that you missed? When did sharing an idea help? What would you do differently on your next team outing? Participation and sharing are optional.
